Germanic Philology – Germanic Philology is the first periodical entirely devoted to Germanic philology and closely related disciplines published so far in Italy. Although designed primarily for an Italian audience, the journal is open to contributions from scholars around the world. 2019 saw the inauguration of the Supplements of Filologia germanica – Germanic Philology dedicated to specific topics in the discipline.
The journal, supported and funded by the Italian Association of Germanic Philology (AIFG), has been in operation since 2009 and has an annual cadence.
Germanic Philology – Germanic Philology has endowed itself with a Code of Ethics which is inspired by the Code of Ethics Of publications developed by COPE. The Code is shared by all those who participate in the editorial implementation of the journal. Each issue is devoted to a specific Germanic linguistic, literary and cultural theme. Articles are published in Italian or one of the major international languages and are provided with a abstract in English. The journal benefits from the refereeing anonymously by Italian and foreign experts according to the procedure of double blind peer review.
The journal is in ANVUR Class A for the entire Area 10 – Ancient, philological-literary and historical-artistic sciences.
